What is EXIF data?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) data is metadata embedded in photos by cameras and phones. It can include the GPS location where the photo was taken, the camera or phone model, date and time, exposure settings, and even a thumbnail of the original image.
Is it safe to use? Is my photo uploaded?
Yes. Every step runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your images are never uploaded to any server, so they are completely private and safe even for sensitive photos.
Does removing EXIF reduce image quality?
JPG images are re-saved at high quality (0.92), which is visually lossless for most photos. PNG files are re-encoded losslessly, preserving full quality and transparency. You may even see a smaller file size once the metadata and embedded thumbnail are removed.
Which image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP. Each image keeps its original format after cleaning, so a JPG stays a JPG and a PNG stays a PNG with its transparency intact.
Is there a limit on file size or quantity?
Each image can be up to 20MB, and you can process as many as you like in a batch. Performance depends on your device; very large images take a moment to redraw.
