Does conversion reduce image quality?
Conversion always uses high quality. PNG output is lossless; for JPG and WebP the quality is set to 0.92, which is visually lossless for normal photos.
How does HEIC conversion work?
Apple HEIC files are decoded with a small library (heic2any) loaded only when a HEIC image is detected, then converted to your chosen format in the browser.
