Does compression reduce image quality?
Only as much as you choose. The quality slider lets you balance size and quality. At 80% or higher, results are virtually indistinguishable from the original for normal photos and graphics.
How does PNG compression work here?
PNG images are compressed with UPNG using indexed-color (palette) quantization. The number of colors scales with your quality setting, so lower quality means a smaller PNG while keeping transparency. At 100% quality, PNGs are re-encoded losslessly.
Can I compress many images at once?

Which format gives the smallest files?
